The most wonderful time of the year....

I love Christmas and love it even more when my two boys get so excited over it. This year we started doing Advent. I purchased a little advent house from Target and filled it with chocolates. Each night, after dinner, we would ask the boys if they wanted to open the door on the advent house. We would go over, open the door, give the boys the chocolate, and tell them how many days were left until Jesus' Birthday. It is amazing how quickly Jaxsen understood what we were doing. We would only have to mention opening the door or advent and he would be waiting by the fireplace for us to pull it down and open the door for that day.
Another thing we did to get ready for Christmas was to make gingerbread houses with Izzy. We had two gingerbread houses for the kids to do. Camden and Izzy worked on one together and then did the other one. I think more of the candy and icing ended up in their bellies the first time around. Here are some pictures from the gingerbread making...
Camden sneaking yet another bite of icing from the roof!

Norrah got involved in the end and loved eating the icing and M&Ms that were left over.
Nice face Izzy!
